Ondocumented and old
For the growing group of undocumented people who are getting older, life without rights is often a heavy burden. They came to the Netherlands more than thirty years ago. With the climbing of the years, their health weakens. The network around them is slowly crumbling. These people have been here for 20 or 30 years. Now that they are older and often ill, life without papers is becoming increasingly difficult. Politics are not talking about them, the social debate has changed quite a bit. But without residence papers, you will not receive shelter or help. There is also no prospect of legal residence. For these people, return is a long-gone station. No right to a dignified old age, with a house, or AOW and good physical and psychological care. Because people without papers have the worst access to care in the Netherlands.
